Research Assistant

The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Department of Neurosurgery, Laboratory of Functional Neuroimaging and Electrophysiology: Research Assistant to join the Tandon Lab to assist with day-to day collection and analysis of human neuroimaging and intracranial electrophysiology data. Duties will include scheduling of epilepsy patients and healthy control subjects, database maintenance, subject testing, data analysis (psychometrics, functional MRI, and electrophysiology), and stimulus design. Demonstrable pre-existing interest in cognitive neuroscience or medicine desired; knowledge of psychological experiment software (e.g., Presentation) or statistics will be considered helpful. Advanced computer skills, especially proficiency with Matlab, AFNI, FSL, or SPM, are highly desirable but not required. This position is ideal for anyone considering future graduate study in cognitive neuroscience or medicine. Applicant must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and must like working with adult patients. Start date between June and August 2009.
